CHARLOTTE, NC -- MARCH, 13 2025 -- Wellzesta Inc, an AgeTech platform provider, is pleased to announce the onboarding of Shell Point Retirement Community in Fort Myers, Florida.
Shell Point selected Wellzesta's engagement platform to streamline operations, provide a central source for communication, and enhance residents' quality of life. Brian Hinds, Chief Information Officer of Shell Point reports, “The Wellzesta platform allows our team to work cohesively, saving time and keeping high-quality connectivity with our residents. We view Wellzesta as an operational front-of-house ERP; post-launch Shell Point replaced multiple legacy tools to address our diverse communication needs.”
Founded in 1968, Shell Point serves approximately 2,500 residents on a 700-acre campus. Shell Point offers a secure, fulfilling, and worry-free retirement lifestyle with access to comprehensive care, diverse amenities, and a thriving community. In addition to its overall performance as a life plan community, Shell Point has received awards for skilled nursing, architecture, and wellness:
- • Overall. #1 on the 2024 Leading Age-Ziegler 200 list of Single-Campus Senior Living Communities; “America’s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities” by Newsweek (2025, 2024)
- • Skilled Nursing. "Best Nursing Homes" by U.S. News & World Report (2025, 2020, 2019); “America’s Best Nursing Homes” by Newsweek (2025, 2022, 2021, 2020)
- • Architecture. “Aurora Award for architecture and interior design” for the Tribby Arts Center (Grand, 2021) the Woodlands Commons (Grand, 2018), and The Crystal and The Springs (Silver, 2019)

Dr. John Robinson, Chief Executive Officer of Wellzesta states, “The operational scale of Shell Point is a sight to behold. To date, our client success team has onboarded 77 staff from nine departments. Our team is onboarding over 2,000 residents on the use of Wellzesta Life by holding onsite training sessions. At the three-month post implementation mark, Shell Point should see the numbers that our other client-communities experience, which are (as of January 2025) weekly active users (WAU): 83%; average time in app per day per user (TIA): 25 min.”
We asked Brian Hinds, Shell Point’s CIO what features of the Wellzesta platform stood out the most. He responded:
- • AI-powered search and content recommendations. With 20+ FTEs generating marketing and wellness content—including an on-premise TV station—without advanced search capabilities it is difficult for residents to find information. This helps solve that problem.
- • AI-powered automations. When a resident signs up for a group, the group leader is notified, and the resident gets a welcome email.
- • Integrations. MatrixCare (resident information, billing for “paid events”), Worxhub (maintenance), WordPress (for more descriptive content), and Vimeo (for on-demand video).
- • On-demand well-being content section. We now have a home for articles and videos generated by our marketing, wellness, and lifelong learning teams.
- • Extensibility. The Wellzesta API and the software’s modular design will allow us to layer on additional functionality, like connected health and smart home.
Brian Hinds states, “We vetted Wellzesta very carefully. We were impressed with Wellzesta’s enterprise feature set, their engagement numbers, their security posture, attention to quality, their product roadmap, and their spending on product development. Wellzesta’s ability to deliver improved resident well-being aligns with our focus on wellness, a cornerstone for our growth.”
In July at the LeadingAge Southeast’s Annual Conference, Shell Point’s CIO, Brian Hinds and Wellzesta partner, Kyle Robinson will co-present on “Leveraging Technology to Maximize Resident Engagement and Organizational Growth.”
